ActiveCampaign and HubSpot, ready to switch on
A new HubSpot contact joins the ActiveCampaign list you pick with the tags you map, opens and clicks come back onto the HubSpot timeline, and an unsubscribe on either side is marked on both. You paste two keys in your account and it runs, in about ten minutes.
No setup fee, cancel any month, and a person on live chat if a key doesn't work.

What moves, and when
The details you would normally get after a sales call. Here they are up front.
| What | Direction | When | Rule |
|---|---|---|---|
| New contact joins a list | HubSpot to ActiveCampaign | Within seconds | Name and email onto the list you choose, with tags mapped from the HubSpot properties you name |
| Opens and clicks come back | ActiveCampaign to HubSpot | Within seconds | Written on the contact timeline, so a salesperson sees what marketing sent before they call |
| Unsubscribes travel first | Both ways | Within seconds | Someone who opts out on one side is marked on the other, which is the row that keeps you out of trouble |
| Field updates | Both ways | Within seconds | The fields you pair up, with the winning side agreed before we switch it on |
| One address, one contact | Both ways | Every change | Both tools key on the email address and so do we, so a second card is never created |

Before you decide
Which side owns the contact?
You choose, field by field, and we set it before switching on. The common answer is that the CRM owns the phone and the owner, and the email tool owns consent and tags.
Do unsubscribes really carry over?
Yes, and that is the row worth reading twice. Someone who opts out in ActiveCampaign is marked in HubSpot within seconds, which is what keeps a manual export from mailing them again.
Which side wins when a field differs?
You decide, field by field, before we switch it on. The usual split is that HubSpot owns the phone number and the owner, while ActiveCampaign owns tags and consent.
Do we still need our marketing team to export lists?
No, that is the habit this replaces. Contacts arrive with their tags, and what the campaigns did comes back on the timeline, so neither side needs a spreadsheet in the middle.
Anything to know about ActiveCampaign?
The API key belongs to the user who made it, so the integration acts with that user's permissions and shows up in the account as that user.
Anything to know about HubSpot?
Private apps are available on the free CRM, so no paid plan is needed for the token.
What if mine is a bit different?
Tell us what should go where in plain words. Small changes to the rules above are usually free; bigger ones we price the same day and build into the same account.
