Before you decide
Which currency does a post show?
The one the payment was taken in, exactly as Stripe recorded it. If you sell in several, the currency is in every message so nobody adds euros to dollars in their head.
Can somebody open the payment from the post?
Yes, each message carries a link into Stripe. The person who needs the detail is one tap away from it, which is why the message itself can stay short.
Can the webhook read our channel?
No. A Discord webhook only posts. It can't read messages, see who is in the server or answer anyone, which is also why it takes a minute to set up and nothing to review.
Can we send failures to a different channel?
Yes, and it's the setup we suggest: payments in one channel, failures and disputes in another that fewer people can mute. Each channel means one more webhook to paste.
Anything to know about Discord?
A webhook posts into the one channel it was made for, so a second channel means a second webhook.
Anything to know about Stripe?
A restricted key with read access can only read. It can't move money, and we never ask for your secret key.
