HubSpot and Google Sheets, ready to switch on
Each pipeline you choose gets a tab with one row per deal that changes as the deal moves, contacts have a tab of their own, and rows you paste on the import tab become contacts with the properties you map. You paste two keys in your account and it runs, in about ten minutes.
No setup fee, cancel any month, and a person on live chat if a key doesn't work.
More with these apps: all HubSpot integrations · all Google Sheets integrations
HubSpot can already write to Google Sheets from a workflow.
It can: HubSpot's help describes workflow actions that create or update a Google Sheet row, and there is a free HubSpot Assistant add-on for Sheets. If your plan has workflows and you want one property at a time, that works. This pair keeps whole tabs current for every deal and contact without a workflow per case, and reads the import tab back into the CRM. If the workflow action is enough, we'll say so.
What moves, and when
The details you would normally get after a sales call. Here they are up front.
| What | Direction | When | Rule |
|---|---|---|---|
| A tab per pipeline | HubSpot to Google Sheets | Within seconds | One row per deal: name, stage, amount, owner, close date and source, on the tab for that pipeline |
| Stage moves edit the cell | HubSpot to Google Sheets | Within seconds | The stage and amount cells change on the deal's row, so a pivot by stage is live |
| Contacts tab | HubSpot to Google Sheets | Within seconds | Name, email, phone, lifecycle stage and owner, with the deal id beside them for a lookup |
| Import tab | Google Sheets to HubSpot | Every few minutes | Paste rows with an email and they become or update contacts with the properties you map |
| Names, not ids | In the sheet | Always | Owners and pipelines appear as words so the sheet reads like a report; the ids sit in a hidden column |
| Formulas survive | In the sheet | Always | Columns we own are written; the rest of the file is yours |

Ways to connect HubSpot and Google Sheets
Three ways people connect these two, and what each one asks of you. The built-in app is described above.
Before you decide
Can I load a list this way?
Yes, and it's the usual reason people ask. Paste rows on the import tab and they become contacts within a few minutes, matched by email so nobody is created twice.
What if mine is a bit different?
Tell us what should go where in plain words. Small changes to the rules above are usually free; bigger ones we price the same day and build into the same account.
