Notion and Slack, ready to switch on
New items in the Notion database you connect, and the property changes you care about, land in the Slack channel you choose with a link straight back to the page. You paste two keys in your account and it runs, in about ten minutes.
No setup fee, cancel any month, and a person on live chat if a key doesn't work.

What moves, and when
The details you would normally get after a sales call. Here they are up front.
| What | Direction | When | Rule |
|---|---|---|---|
| New item in the database | Notion to Slack | Within seconds | The title and the properties you name, with a link straight to the page |
| Status property | Notion to Slack | Within seconds | Draft to In review to Published, or whatever your own statuses happen to be called |
| Owner property | Notion to Slack | Within seconds | The new owner is named in the post, so handing work over doesn't need a message as well |
| Page comments | Notion to Slack | Within seconds | Carried with their author into the thread that item already has |
| Writing isn't news | In Notion | Always | Editing the body of a page posts nothing; only the properties you nominated do |

Before you decide
Can we create a page from a message?
Not in this one. It runs into the chat so the team sees the board without living in it. If turning a message into a page is what you actually want, describe it and we price it.
How do we keep it quiet enough to read?
Pick the databases and the moves worth posting, and leave the rest out. You can add more later; taking noise away after people have muted the channel is harder.
Which changes are worth posting?
The properties you name, usually status and owner. Editing the body of a page posts nothing, because a document being written is not news to a channel.
Can we post from more than one database?
Yes, and each can go to its own channel. Every database has to be connected to the integration in Notion first, which is two clicks on the page and is also what stops us seeing anything you didn't share.
Do private pages in the database get posted?
Only pages inside a database you connected to the integration. Anything you never shared stays invisible to it, so a personal database can sit in the same workspace without leaking into Slack.
Anything to know about Notion?
An integration only sees the pages and databases you have connected it to, so a database nobody shared with it stays invisible even to a valid key.
Anything to know about Slack?
The bot has to be invited to a channel before it can post there; that's one command in Slack.
What if mine is a bit different?
Tell us what should go where in plain words. Small changes to the rules above are usually free; bigger ones we price the same day and build into the same account.
