WhatsApp and Slack, ready to switch on

Every WhatsApp message to your business number lands in the Slack channel you choose as a thread per customer, a reply typed in that thread goes back to the customer on WhatsApp, and the day rule WhatsApp sets is handled with the template you approve. You paste two keys in your account and it runs, in about ten minutes.

No setup fee, cancel any month, and a person on live chat if a key doesn't work.

How to set up WhatsApp and Slack

Ten minutes of your time, then it's ours.

  1. Choose WhatsApp and Slack
Press Connect. This pair is already selected on the checkout page at $39 a month, and there's nothing else to pick.
  2. Pay and open your account
Card or invoice, about two minutes. The account opens with this integration waiting for its two keys.
  3. Paste the WhatsApp Business key and the Slack bot token
    • WhatsApp Business key: open Meta for Developers, your app, then WhatsApp, then API setup. Full WhatsApp guide
    • Slack bot token: open api.slack.com/apps and create an app from scratch in your workspace. Full Slack guide
Each screen carries the full guide with the exact menu names, about eleven minutes for both.
  4. We check both keys
Each key is checked against WhatsApp's and Slack's own API the moment you paste it. If one doesn't pass, the screen says what to fix, and a person joins the chat if that isn't enough.
  5. Post one test message, then it's Running
A minute or two. Write in the chat you chose and watch it appear in Slack. From then on we watch it for you.

When WhatsApp or Slack changes its API, we fix it within a working day. You don't get a ticket to solve.

Before you decide

Which way does it run?

The direction is fixed while connecting, and where the receiving side can only post, such as a webhook, it is one way by nature. Say which side people write in and we set it that way.

Can we pick which messages go?

Yes. All messages in the channel is the default. A prefix or an emoji reaction you choose can mark the ones that go, so a drafting channel doesn't leak.

Is there a built-in WhatsApp and Slack integration?

Not from Slack or Meta. The Slack marketplace lists third-party apps that bridge the two, some of them with their own numbers and pricing. This pair uses the WhatsApp Business API on a number you own and a Slack bot you create, with the rules written once and a person watching it.

Which WhatsApp does this need?

The official WhatsApp Business API from Meta, on a number you own. The app on a phone has no API, so it can't be connected. If you don't have the API yet, tell us and we walk you through it.

Can two people answer the same customer?

They can, and the thread shows who said what, so it reads like a handover rather than a collision. The reaction claim is there so the second person sees somebody has it before typing.

Can you integrate Slack with WhatsApp?

Yes, with the official WhatsApp Business API on a number you own. Every message to that number lands in the Slack channel you choose as a thread per customer, a reply typed in the thread goes back on WhatsApp from your number, and whoever reacts first is named in the thread. $39 a month.

How do I use the WhatsApp integration day to day?

Watch the channel. A new number opens a thread with the name and the number; a known one lands in its own thread. React to claim it, type your reply in the thread and the bot marks it sent. Photos, files and voice notes travel both ways, and outside the hours you set an automatic line says when somebody will answer.

Is the WhatsApp integration free?

Meta charges for the WhatsApp Business API on its own price list, paid to Meta. Our price for this pair is $39 a month, flat, with no per-message charge from us. The WhatsApp app on a phone has no API, so it can't be connected.

What is the 24 hour rule for WhatsApp Business?

WhatsApp lets a business reply freely for a day after the customer's last message. After that only approved message templates go through. When your team writes in a thread outside that day, we send the template you picked instead, and the thread opens up again the moment the customer answers.

Anything to know about WhatsApp?

Only the official WhatsApp Business API from Meta can be connected; the WhatsApp app on a phone has no API.

Anything to know about Slack?

The bot has to be invited to a channel before it can post there; that's one command in Slack.

What if mine is a bit different?

Tell us what should go where in plain words. Small changes to the rules above are usually free; bigger ones we price the same day and build into the same account.
