Asana and Trello, ready to switch on

A card in the Trello list you name becomes an Asana task in the project you choose, keeping the description, the due date and the person on it, and closing either one closes the twin. You paste two keys in your account and it runs, in about ten minutes.

No setup fee, cancel any month, and a person on live chat if a key doesn't work.

Ten minutes of your time, then it's ours

  1. Pay and open your account
Card or invoice, about two minutes. This integration is already selected.
  2. Paste the Asana access token and the Trello key and token
Each has a short guide. About seven minutes. If one doesn't work, a person joins the chat.
  3. Create one test task
A minute or two. Create a task in Asana, watch its twin appear in Trello, then close one and watch the other close.

When Asana or Trello changes its API, we fix it within a working day. You don't get a ticket to solve.

Before you decide

Which one is the source of truth?

Neither, and that is why the loop guard matters. Each team works where it prefers, and the twin follows. If you would rather one side be read-only, say so and we set it that way.

Do subtasks and checklists come across?

The top level does, with title, dates and assignee. Subtasks and checklists differ so much between these two that we treat them as a custom job rather than pretending they map cleanly.

What happens to a Trello card that nobody is on?

The task is created and assigned to the person you nominate as the fallback, so it appears in somebody's list rather than in the project's unassigned corner.

Do Trello checklists become subtasks?

They arrive as a checklist in the task description rather than as subtasks, because an Asana subtask has its own owner and date and a checklist item has neither. If you want real subtasks, say so and we price it.

Anything to know about Asana?

A personal access token acts as your user, so tasks are created in your name and only in projects that user can see.

Anything to know about Trello?

The token belongs to the member who created it, so cards appear as created by that person, and the connection stops if they leave the workspace.

What if mine is a bit different?

Tell us what should go where in plain words. Small changes to the rules above are usually free; bigger ones we price the same day and build into the same account.
