Before you decide
Which one is the source of truth?
Neither, and that is why the loop guard matters. Each team works where it prefers, and the twin follows. If you would rather one side be read-only, say so and we set it that way.
Do subtasks and checklists come across?
The top level does, with title, dates and assignee. Subtasks and checklists differ so much between these two that we treat them as a custom job rather than pretending they map cleanly.
Why would a team run both?
Usually because clients or one department live in Trello while delivery works in ClickUp. This keeps both honest without anybody retyping a card at the end of the day.
Who wins if both sides change at once?
The later change, and we never send our own writes back, so the two boards settle within seconds instead of taking turns. For a field where that is not good enough, name the winning side and we set it.
Which side should people actually work in?
Whichever one they already open. This exists because two halves of a company rarely agree, and the cost of that disagreement used to be somebody retyping cards on a Friday.
Anything to know about ClickUp?
The personal token acts as you, so tasks the integration creates show your name as their creator. A user made for the integration keeps that tidy.
Anything to know about Trello?
The token belongs to the member who created it, so cards appear as created by that person, and the connection stops if they leave the workspace.
